Dakota has been a bicycle mechanic since 2014, wrenching at Deer Valley, Fishers Cyclery, Bicycle Center, and now Peak State Fit. He has been involved in racing as a mechanic since 2016. Starting with the University of Utah Cycling Team as their team mechanic as well as competing. Currently Dakota is the team mechanic for EMPYR Cycling, Utah’s premiere criterium cycling team.

Born and raised in Park City, Utah, Dakota has been riding a bike since he could walk and has competed in Cross-Country, Short Track Cross-Country, Downhill, Dual Slalom, and Enduro. Most notably, Dakota has competed in five season, 31 races, and 3 Collegiate MTB National Championships for the University of Utah.

Dakota graduated for the University of Utah in 2022 with a degree in Multi-Disciplinary Design. On his free time he does free-lance graphic design, creating custom frame designs for custom painted bikes and logos. Dakota brought some of his design talents to the shop where he creates custom 3D printed parts for riders who need special parts for their bikes.

When he’s not working on bikes you can find him skiing, traveling with his fiancé and dog, or actually riding his bike.
